The Ups and Down of Moving

Posted August 6, 2017 by

The truths of moving is that it’s more work than you think , it takes longer than expected and there are always unexpected delays and hurdles which slow the process down.

And CCSC is no exception!  As most of you know, we had hoped to be moved and open serving our guests in our new downtown location, weeks ago. But alas the road has been a slow and rocky one.

The silver lining in all of this, is that once again our amazing volunteers have hung in there and risen to the occasion.  At Chalmers WEST which has remained open throughout, we have served a record number of guests each week and sometimes run out of food which is never easy for guests or volunteers.  But all have worked together and persevered.  DOWNTOWN, volunteers have worked tirelessly to get us ready for the day (soon!) when all the needed pieces of the puzzle are in place.  The Friday pantry volunteers stocked the shelves and got the clothes on the racks so the space is really shaping up. In really exciting news, the sinks are finally hooked up we’ll soon be able to firm up an opening date!

When we have one, you all will be the first to know!
